Pepco wants to make paying our bills as convenient as possible. So we
offer two online bill payment options: Bill
Matrix and Electronic
Bank Transfer.
Electronic Bank Transfer
The electronic
bank transfer (EBT) option is like writing a check online. It transfers
the amount you specify from your checking account directly to Pepco. There
is no service charge for this option.
Before logging in to the EBT option, be sure to have your Pepco bill and
a check from the checking account you wish to use. At the bottom of your
check will be two series of numbers. The one at the left is the routing
code for your bank. The one at the right is your account number. You will
need both to register your EBT payment.
Bill Matrix
You can pay your Pepco bill with a credit card through the services
of BillMatrix Corp.
Bill Matrix also accepts ATM/debit cards that carry the STAR logo.
BillMatrix charges a fee for these services.
Before logging on to BillMatrix, be sure to have your Pepco account number,
and the credit card or debit card to be used for payment handy. You must
also supply the zip code where your credit card statement is mailed and
the amount you want to pay.
The maximum bill payment you may make per transaction is $400. It's a
good idea to make a note of your confirmation number for your records.
Usually, payments made before 3:00 p.m. Eastern time Monday-Friday (except
holidays) will be posted to your account the next day. Payments received
after that time will be posted on the following business day.
